After last week's fantastic episode, I felt like this week's was a bit of an anti climax despite the fabulous acting from Rosie Marcel (Jac Naylor). This week also saw a new member of staff start and the return of a familiar face.
So let's start with the (unwelcome) return of the familiar face. Yes, that's right, Dominic is back!! You remember Dominic (or Dom as he wants to be called)? He's the guy who slept with Malick and then tried to destroy Malick's career by lying on oath. So as you can imagine, Dominic is not a very popular young man at Holby General, particularly with Digby (who hates Dom). Zosia, who had no idea of Dominic's past, took an immediate liking to him; so much so that she invited him to move in with her and Digby (much to Digby's disgust). It'll be interesting to see if Dominic is able to redeem himself and if Digby is able to forgive Dom.
Since giving birth last week, you'd be forgiven for thinking Jac would be spending all her time in the NICU with her baby; but that wouldn't be Jac. So Jac did what she did best - work! Except the fact that she was still recovering from the cesarean prevented her from performing surgery (which didn't go down to well with Jac!) However, in some rare quiet moments, we got to see another side to Jac; we got to see just how scared Jac really is for her daughter's health. Rosie Marcel has done a fantastic job portraying Jac's vulnerability and I'm looking forward to next week's episode to see how Jac reacts whilst baby Emma undergoes an operation. It's nice to see this other side to Jac and I do hope the writers give us more of this side in the coming weeks as Emma fights for her life.
This week I didn't like Colette. She came across as very arrogant especially when being 'interviewed' and shadowed by a lady from HR after is was discovered that Guy didn't exactly go through the proper channels in order for Colette to get the job! The fact that Colette undermined Harry whilst he tried to treat a patient didn't work in her favour either. I mean, yes she may be a nurse with a few more years experience than Harry, but he is the doctor and surely the better qualified person?! Anyway, enough of Colette, let's move onto the new member of staff who started work on AAU - Adele!!
Adele is Mo's sister and was a nice breath of fresh air for the ward. She's basically another Mo character wise - very bubbly and up for a laugh it seems. Mo seemed pleased to see her at first but I think that will change as the week's progress. I know I wouldn't be able to work with a family member, so it'll be interesting to see the dynamic between Adele and Mo.
So those are my thoughts and I would love to see yours. So what are you waiting for? Get posting.....!!!
