Wow, what an episode that was, mainly due to the wonderful surprise the Writing Gods added in for us this week!!
On Darwin, you had Mr T dressed as an elf entertaining the patients with a Christmas song of their choice. This (along with an outspoken patient) made Mo realise that Mr T is the man for her (thank goodness we all cry); unfortunately for Mo, just as she has plucked up the courage to tell him, Mr T tells her he has a date with a patients relative
On Keller, was a patient who knew all the Christmas customs of every country in the world. He also confided in Zosia that his mother had died a few years ago; this allowed Zosia to open up to him about her mother passing away and how this was her first Christmas without her mum. Also, Zosia's mum was Polish, meaning that they celebrate on Christmas Eve rather than on Christmas Day. This fact was passed onto Digby, who prepared a Polish Christmas meal offish and chips as the Polish eat carp for their Christmas meal; he also had a place set for Zosia's mum as is customary in Polish tradition as well as passing on a Christmas present that Mr Self asked him to pass on (it was a gift from Zosia's mum but she refused to accept it from her father). The scenes between Arthur and Zosia were beautifully done and almost had me reaching for the tissues. Zosia is really growing on me and I do like the way the writers are drip feeding us information about her.
Over on AAU, Edward was doing more stirring with Serena, trying to get Mary Claire into more trouble. Mary Claire caught Edward drinking on the job but somehow he managed to convince Serena that she was lying. However, after another patient got into trouble whilst under Edward's watch in theatre - one Serena just happened to be in too - the truth finally came to light and poor Serena had to suspend Edward. She then went and apologised to Mary Claire whist the carol concert was going on outside of the hospital.
Talking of the carol concert, as I mentioned earlier, the Writing Gods had a nice little surprise in store for us - Harry sang a solo!!! Yes, we got to hear Jules' lovely dulcet tones in the first verse of Silent Night. Hearing him sing, bought me to tears (but in a good way). This was a perfect end to the Christmas episode and I only hope he is still in it next Christmas so we get to hear him perform again.
What did you think of the episode then? Are you warming to Zosia? Do you want to see Mr T and Mo get together? Do you want to hear more of Harry singing? Let us know below....
