Well, what another disappointing lack of Dr T action there was in this week's episode. There were a couple of blink or you'll miss him moments at the beginning of the episode and then a little longer towards the end. Come on writers, we need a bit of hot doctor action on a Tuesday night!!!!
This week saw Sacha's jealousy of Chrissie and Michael's friendship fester slowly through the episode until it reached it's inevitable climax at the end. This wasn't helped by the fact that both Sacha and Chrissie were working together on a patient who had come in due to a fire at a gig; the patient was an aging 'rock star' who, unintentionally, wound the coiled spring that was Sacha's jealousy tighter and tighter by making comments everytime he saw Chrissie and Michael together. The comment about how Chrissie and Michael were off for a bit of 'pleasure' when they disappeared into a side room together almost pushed Sacha over the edge.
Of course, we all know that there is nothing going on between Chrissie and Michael; he's just helping her after she arrived back from Australia when she found a lump in her breast. Her test results arrived back and it wasn't good news; the lump was cancerous and left Chrissie weighing up her options whilst trying to put on a brave face for both Sacha and his daughter Rachel who don't realise what is going on.
It all came out at the pub quiz that Sacha had arranged to take place in Albie's. Chrissie arrived on her own and sat with Rachel, much to Rachel's delight. Then Michael arrived and sat whispering with Chrissie; this was the straw that broke the camels back where Sacha was concerned who finally snapped and went over to confront the pair of them and ended up hitting Michael in the nose. This action resulted in Chrissie revealing her secret to the packed Albie's and walking out leaving it to sink in.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Serena's mother was readmitted after having a fall which left a nasty cut on her head which led to Serena asking her mum to move in with her. This suggestion was met with derision from her mother. It took Edward to talk Serena into realising that her mother was still capable of making her own decisions on her health and wellbeing. I have a feeling that Serena and Edward might start up their relationship again before the writers reveal what it was exactly that caused them to split up in the first place.
Digby was left feeling a little put out when Malick assigned him to what seemed to be a relatively simple case of Tetanus/Lock Jaw. Digby's disappointment soon turned to glee (much to Malick's disdain) when he found out the patient was actually suffering from puffer fish poisoning!!
So that's my review of the episode; what are your thoughts? You know what to do.......
