This episode was a mixture of heavy drama - ongoing transplant storyline, Sacha/Chrissie break-up, Chrissie's illness - and light relief - Serena, Edward and Ric - but there was one thing lacking - not a lot of Dr T action!!
This week had the continuing fallout from Mo's choice of performing the transplant operation without the donors mothers consent. The dead girls mother turned up at the hospital to collect her daughters body and to accompany her to the funeral home; whilst she was there she decided to pay Mo and Jonny a visit in order to get some answers. Mo takes it upon herself to try and sort the situation out but ends up making it worse. In the end, after the mother made a complaint to Serena, Mo took full responsibility for her actions. Whilst parts of the storyline are said to be 'unrealistic' in the 'real' world, it has done what it set out to do and bring organ donation back into the public awareness and has encouraged many young people to start carrying a donor card. I did feel sorry for both Jonny and Mo as the whole situation threatened to ruin their friendship but at the end it was good to see them slowly putting it all behind them.
Meanwhile, Chrissie returned back from Australia where she had run off to a few weeks ago. Sacha only found out about her return when the creche rang him to let him know Daniel had had a fall. Chrissie meanwhile was sitting with Michael in Oncology waiting for a mamogram having found a lump in her breast whilst out in Oz. Poor Chrissie couldn't bring herself to tell Sacha the real reason why she was back, instead pretending that it was an old school friend who was being treated; then to add to her misery Sacha informs her that whilst he loves her, he wants to separate as this is what he thinks would be best for both them and their son.
The light relief amongst all of this came in the form of Serena, Edward and Ric. Much to Serena's disgust, Ric and Edward got on like a house on fire. The interaction between these three is great and I look forward to seeing more scenes with them in.
So that's my review, now it's over to you.....
