ex-Blake singer Jules Knight reckons the arrival of sexy doctor Harry would receive the Royal seal of approval...
Dishy doc Harry Tressler sets pulses racing this week, as he works his charms on AAU. The medic wastes no time in chatting up new colleagues Gemma and Mary-Claire - but Harry proves he's not just a pretty face when he solves a bizarre medical mystery.
While actor Jules Knight is making his television debut in Holby City, his time in the classical boy band Blake means he's used to fame. The move from singing to screen surgery might appear extreme, but the star tells us he's living his dream...
"I started to miss acting about three years after I joined Blake," reveals Jules, who attended drama school after studying at the University of St Andrews alongside the future Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. "I had an agent, though it was hard because I couldn't get to auditions while I was on tour. But Holby was too good an opportunity to miss out on."
Sparks fly between Harry and Gemma when she mistakes him for a psychiatric consultant - but he impresses her later on after he solves a puzzling case of a patient who thinks she's a vampire!
"Harry is a ladies man," grins Jules. "Gemma and Harry have a love-hate relationship with a lot of game-playing. They go out for a drink after work, but he leaves the bar with Mary-Claire!"
Despite his charm, Harry doesn't make quite as good an impression with Ric.
"He likes to mess about, which doesn't go down well with Ric," admits Jules. "Harry will shake things up. He's a good doctor but can be very manipulative."
Given that Jules is a pal of Prince William, might HRH become a Holby fan?
"One can only hope Wills tunes in!" laughs the star. "At university I lived next door to William, and we had a close group of friends. He was just one of the lads and a very down-to-earth guy. I'm pleased that Kate is pregnant, and am sure they will make fantastic parents."
While Blake lived a jet-set lifestyle, will things be different for Jules now? "There were helicopters, red carpets, and singing in incredible venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House," he recalls. "Holby City is a very different schedule and I'm up at 5am every day - but I feel very at home."
