Operatic boyband singer - and friend of the royals - Jules Knight joins Holby City
You play dishy doctor Harry Tressler. What's he like?
He's a great character, I hope. He's a talented doctor, who's charming and good with people. But he can also be manipulative and quite arrogant. He loves to fool around and he has an eye for the ladies.
He seems to enjoy flirting with Gemma (Ty Glaser), but does he genuinely fancy her?
That's a very good question, and I don't know the answer. I think he enjoys playing games with different people at the same time. I suppose we'll see. Maybe a softer side of Harry will come out.
Is it true that you've been singing on set, between takes?
I want to make it perfectly clear that I did not initiate any of this singing - other people did. I just happened to sing along to a bit of Les Mis, and maybe Singing In The Rain. Whatever. It's fun.
You left the classical boyband Blake to join the show. Was it a shock to your fellow members when you moved on?
Yes, it was. I wasn't able to give them as much notice as I would have liked, because the casting process took longer than I had expected. And I do appear on the album that they're just about to release. It has been weird for them. But they've got their heads around it now. They've been supportive, and we're good friends. I;ve known one of them since I was seven.
Are you prepared for the female attention that playing Harry will bring? Women love a doctor...
Do they? I'm glad you warned me! Erm, yes, I'm ready!
Before you went to drama school, you were at university with Prince William and the future Duchess of Cambridge. Are you still in touch with them?
I haven't spoken to them for quite a long time. University was a fair amount of time ago. We had a wonderful four years, and I knew them both very well. I lived practically next door to Will. So for us, it was actually weird when we spotted Will in the paper. To see him in real life was perfectly normal. He was one of the lads.
